13th International Conference on Corporate Governance – Deepening the Discussion About Boards

To close a year in which Brazil has staged important Corporate Governance forums, IBGC now proposes a two-day agenda to deepen discussions about boards. The 13th edition of our International Conference on Corporate Governance features topics related to the tasks of the Board of Directors and its Advisory Committee, Fiscal Council, and Family Board.

The debate will not just reflect the responsibilities of governance bodies: It will include evaluation, compensation, and activity challenges of their members, whose performance and strategic role in an organization's higher performance are under constant scrutiny. Different forms of ownership, such as co-operatives, boards of nonprofits and soccer teams will also be under the spotlight with presentations and discussions.

In 10 sessions, three of which to be held concurrently, there will be talks by knowledgeable Brazilian and foreign professionals, experts in the best practices of corporate governance. Pioneering corporate governance activist Robert A. G. Monks will deliver the closing speech of the 2012 Conference.
